Week 1: UX Research & Product Strategy (The Foundation)
Design Thinking Process: Understanding the 5 stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.
User Research & Empathy: Conducting user interviews and creating User Personas to represent target audience needs and pain points.
Information Architecture (IA): Mapping out user flows and sitemaps to organize content logically before drawing a single line.
Wireframing (Low-Fidelity): Translating ideas into skeletal structures using paper sketches or digital tools like Balsamiq/Figma to focus on functionality over aesthetics.
Usability Principles: Applying Heuristic Evaluation and Gestalt Principles to ensure the product is intuitive and accessible.
Week 2: UI Design & Interactive Prototyping (The Visuals)
Visual Design Systems: Mastering typography hierarchies, color theory (60-30-10 rule), and grid systems for consistent layouts.
Figma Mastery: Leveraging Auto-Layout, Components, and Variants to build a scalable and professional Design System.
High-Fidelity UI Design: Transforming wireframes into polished, pixel-perfect interfaces with imagery, icons, and branding.
Interaction Design: Creating clickable prototypes with advanced transitions, overlays, and smart-animates to simulate a real app experience.
Testing & Handoff: Conducting “Think Aloud” usability tests on prototypes and preparing developer handoff files (inspecting CSS properties and exporting assets).
Capstone Project: Designing a complete “Problem-Solver” app—from initial research and user personas to a fully interactive, high-fidelity prototype.
